Work Experiences

Over the past decade, during and after graduating from Stanford, I have been involved in a number of different ventures, ranging in roles from engineering, marketing, sales, product development, product management and executive management. The following is a list of ventures and organizations I have either been a part of or have a stake in:

Rawlings Atlantic – strategy and tactical consulting group where we provide various consulting services worldwide. Within the past year, recent projects include:

  • Willow Garage managing the build and product development process of the Texai Remote Presence system,
  • Improv.com managing an RFP process for a new engagement toolset in conjunction with their website and ticketing solution,
  • Adidas Asia Pacific training their country MDs on Web 2.0 and social-media efforts,
  • Knock Knock managing their eCommerce and social-media efforts, and
  • Financial Summit Ventures providing business and technical strategy and advice for startups for investment.

Red Hen Spectra – creating a collaborative curation platform for managing a diverse set of data provided by a scientific community. Using Web 2.0 concepts and a healthy dollop of lessons from Wikipedia, we are focusing on building a database of chemical “fingerprints” which will identify the chemical makeup of compounds through handheld spectrometers. A potential idea for the use of this database can be found here or a recent “Artifacts from the Future” in WIRED Magazine.

Contagious Conversations – consulting venture providing guidance and technical delivery for social media marketing through marketing programs, media engagement strategies and technology improvement. Customers like Greg Warren, Jeff Dunham, SuperNova 2008, HealthPointPA, and Goodnight Burbank.

dabble – Investor in video meta-information aggregation service

Coworking – working with Tony Bacigalupo on running coworking spaces in New York City. Our first, cooperBricolage has migrated to a new space, NewWorkCity which was located at the edge of TriBeca and the West Village.

Cooper Union and Polytechnic – instructor for various courses including Emerging Development Paradigms (curriculum for engineers/entrepreneurs on implementing new technology concepts), Engineering in Design (teaching New Product Development) and Systems Engineering.

Suzanne’s Files – Selectives interim CTO and investor in luxury selection service (email newsletter and blog) – sold to Spire.

Falkin – Consultant for new digital identity management company focusing on biometric and other identification factors in a hardware/software infrastructure.

16Bars – Consultant hired to develop online engagement strategy and platform to engage hiphop enthusiasts in the first sports-like hip-hop competition.

Rawlings Political – Consulting offshoot focused on Internet engagement and fundraising strategies for political campaigns.

Eric Massa for Congress – Campaign manager for Eric Massa’s Congressional run in 2006.

Peter Deutsch for US Senate – Director of Online Strategy for Congressman Peter Deutsch’s US Senate run in Florida.

John Kerry for President – CTO of the John Kerry for President Campaign during the primary season. Responsible for or responsibilities in infrastructure, online services, online marketing, online fundraising and online community engagement.

Rawlings Atlantic – Director and founder of consulting and investment company focusing on telecoms, media and technology companies, also based in London, England and the US.

Interoute – VP of IP Products and Services while also serving as product manager for Enhanced Network Services (read: programmable bandwidth using APIs), based in London, England.

hotrecruit.com – CTO and online marketing director for the start of The Hot Group, based in London, England – sold to Trinity Mirro Group for 50M GBS.

eGroups / Yahoo! Groups – Director of Product Marketing for the precursor to Yahoo! Groups, known as eGroups. Focused on product development and management and incentive programs for high-value customers.

ICVerify – Product Marketing Director for point-of-sale software company driving product development for online payment mechanisms using the credit card transaction systems.

Accenture – Consultant on some of the first self-service web interfaces developed for the telecoms industry in San Francisco, California and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

IBM – Robotic engineer for manufacturing workcells used to build high-speed disk drives in San Jose, California.
